ISLAMABAD: Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi on Monday received in Islamabad Sheikh Abdullah Awad Al-Juhani, an imam at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
“Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia, which are fraternal relations based on religious and cultural commonalities,” Alvi said.
Saudi-Pakistani relations are characterized by their shared visions on regional and international issues, as well as a shared desire to address the challenges facing the Muslim world, he added.
Alvi hailed the Saudi leadership’s efforts to serve the Two Holy Mosques, and the services provided to pilgrims every year.
He also hailed the Kingdom’s support of regional security and stability, as well as Muslim causes.
Alvi thanked the Kingdom for supporting Pakistan and its people in difficult times, noting recent Saudi support for his country’s economy.
He expressed good wishes on behalf of Pakistan’s government and people to King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people.
Al-Juhani thanked Alvi for his kind sentiments and warm reception, as well as the hospitality he experienced during his visit to Pakistan.
Al-Juhani conveyed the compliments of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and their wishes for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki and senior Pakistani officials.
