ABU DHABI: The Kingdom’s humanitarian work was highlighted at a festival organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.
The OIC event, which is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center until April 27, featured the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief (KSRelief).
KSRelief showcased Saudi Arabia’s relief efforts through videos, booklets and documentaries and highlighted the help the country provided to 44 countries, including a mine clearance project and the rehabilitation of child soldiers recruited by Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The festival was inaugurated by the UAE’s minister of tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, in the presence of the OIC’s secretary-general, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, the Kingdom’s ambassador to the UAE, Turki Al-Dakhil, and others.
Al-Nahyan visited KSRelief’s pavilion, expressing his admiration for its work across four continents.
On Saturday KSRelief spokesman, Dr. Samer Al-Jutaili, will take part in a forum focused on the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts.
