BEIRUT: Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid bin Abdullah Bukhari supervised the distribution to beneficiaries in the country of the first sacrificial offerings sent this year from Saudi Arabia.
Lebanese Minister of Information Jamal Al-Jarrah also attended the launch of the initiative, which is part of a Saudi project administered by the Islamic Development Bank.
This year, the Kingdom is sending 15,000 slaughtered animals to Lebanon, which will be handed out to needy Lebanese families and refugees from Syria and Palestine.
“It is not the first initiative from Saudi Arabia, because the Kingdom has always offered goods to the Lebanese people, the Syrians and Palestinian refugees,” said Al-Jarrah.
