Economic forum held to discuss Saudi reforms

RIYADH: In collaboration with the International Monetary Fund, the Ministry of Finance hosted an economics forum in Riyadh.

The forum was opened by Saad Al-Shahrani, head of the Finance Ministry’s fiscal policy department, after which a working paper titled “Policies taken to boost economic diversity in the Kingdom” was presented by economists Divya Kirti, from the IMF, and Nahla Samargandi, from the Finance Ministry.

The second seminar discussed a working paper titled “Value-added tax: The Kingdom’s experience and the next steps,” presented by Tim Callen, IMF mission chief for Saudi Arabia, and Abdullah Al-Rashidi from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority.
