Khalid Abdullah Al-Hussan has been the CEO of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) since November 2015. He started at Tadawul as a market data manager in January 2007 until December 2008, progressing to business development manager from January 2009 to October 2011 before advancing to the head of corporate planning and projects role from October 2011 to January 2013. Following this promotion, he was chief strategy officer from December 2012 to March 2014 and finally executive director of asset services and depository from January 2013 to January 2015.

He has also served as the chairman of the board at the Securities Depository Center Company since December 2017, and held the same role at the Securities Clearing Center Company since February 2018.

Al-Hussan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from King Saud University in 1999, before earning an MBA and a professional certificate in entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado Denver in 2002.

Prior to his current position, Al-Hussan worked at Tawuniya Insurance Company as a products and services development manager from September 2004 to July 2005 and strategy management office general manager from August 2005 to January 2007. He was also a board advisory committee member at the Capital Market Authority from January 2016 to January 2018.

The two-day Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference, one of the most important financial events in the region, will open in Riyadh on Sept. 18 with a focus on the new financial ecosystem.

Keynote speakers expected at the conference include Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Capital Market Authority Chairman Mohammed El-Kuwaiz, and Tadawul CEO Khalid Abdullah Al-Hussan. The audience will also hear from policymakers, regulators and customers.

The annual conference, organized under the patronage of the Finance Ministry, will explore how changes in finance and the Kingdom intersect.
