DUBAI: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) took part in the 4th Middle East International Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine Conference in Dubai.
It did so through an exhibition and a symposium highlighting Saudi Arabia’s relief and humanitarian efforts worldwide, particularly in Yemen.
The conference was attended by 1,500 dermatology and aesthetic medicine specialists from around the world.
It was inaugurated by the director general of the Dubai Health Authority, Humaid Al-Qutami, on behalf of Dubai’s crown prince and the authority’s president, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.
The exhibition included photographs and presentations showcasing the Kingdom’s relief and humanitarian efforts through KSRelief projects.
“The Kingdom has been known for its support of humanitarian and relief work around the world since its establishment, and is considered one of the largest international supporters of charitable and humanitarian work,” KSRelief’s assistant director of medical and environmental assistance, Dr. Abdullah Al-Wadei, said during the symposium.

“KSRelief completed 368 projects in Yemen in partnership with 80 UN bodies and international and local NGOs,” Al-Wadei said.
“These projects covered the fields of food security, health, early recovery, humanitarian action, water, environmental sanitation, hygiene, shelter, non-food products, protection, education, logistics, nutrition and emergency communications.”
Saudi Arabia is the biggest supporter of the UN Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen. It is also the largest supporter of humanitarian operations in the country through KSRelief and other programs such as the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen.
