Saudi Shoura agrees tougher penalties for real estate ownership violators

RIYADH: Saudi Shoura Council Speaker Dr. Abdullah Al-Asheikh convened a session of the council online on Monday during which it agreed to introduce additional penalties for those who violate the law stipulating ownership of properties and investment in real estate.
The law does not allow non-Saudis to own property and invest in the real estate sector.
The council also approved amendments to a draft law on combating financial fraud and breach of trust.
