Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, on Tuesday, disclosed the Sharjah World Book Capital 2019 Monument. The 36.5-metre high sculpture is motivated by an ancient scroll design that represented the lasting power of books and how reading can unite people. The structure is developed by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), and authorized by the internationally acclaimed UK-based artist, Gerry Judah.
