JEDDAH: The fifth edition of Basta Market launched in the north side of the Jeddah Center for Events and Forums on Friday, under the auspices of Fayez Al-Harbi, founder of Basta Market and vice chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).
The market is supported by the JCCI and aims to promote Saudi entrepreneurs, as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Al-Harbi and members of the JCCI praised the market’s role in backing SMEs and promoting tourism, trade and economic development.
Traders in the annual Basta Market — with over 150 booths open to customers from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday for the next seven weeks — are showcasing a wide range of products, from food and fashion accessories to art.
In addition to the vast array of cultural activities the annual market has to offer, new ones have been introduced, with many geared toward families with children, including a water balls playground, climbing and graffiti walls, and face painting. The market is expected to achieve a record number of visitors.
